VIETNAM: Authorities on Alert for Passage of TD Samuel Over Central and Southern Regions

Authorities were monitoring Tropical Depression (TD) Samuel, which was tracking about 965 km (600 miles) southeast of Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa province, with winds of up to 56 kph (34.8 mph). The system was forecast to strengthen to a typhoon and bring heavy rainfall to the central and southern regions, including Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Khánh Hòa and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu provinces over the next 24 hours.
