According to media, Super Typhoon Hagibis, located around 452.8 km (3281.4 miles) southwest of Ogasawara islands, Tokyo prefecture, was forecast to make landfall near Tokyo on 12-13 October. The storm was expected to trigger railway cancellations and evacuations, especially in Chiba, Kanagawa, Tokyo, Kagoshima and Okinawa prefectures and surrounding areas ahead of its impact.
