HONG KONG: Clashes Erupt in Protests in Central District

12 June 2019

Local sources indicated that an unconfirmed number of people were injured when police deployed tear gas and water cannons at protesters as they attempted to breach the cordons to the Legislative Council (LegCo) building in Admiralty, Central district, during afternoon hours local time. Several roads, including Lung Wo, Harcourt, Queensway, Tim Mei and Tim Wa remained blocked, after a session over the extradition bill was postponed until further notice.

ADVICE: Avoid all protests; seek shelter at the first sign of unrest.
