CHINA: Heavy Rainfall Triggers Rail Disruptions Between Xian and Chengdu

11 July 2018

At least six trains were cancelled and 17 others were delayed on the Xi’an-Chengdu high-speed railway line as heavy rainfall caused high water-levels on the Qingjiang River in Guangyuan, Sichuan province. Rainfall also triggered flash floods and landslides that blocked roads in the city of Mianyang and Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture.

ADVICE: Anticipate further weather-related disruptions in affected areas over the next 24 hours. Confirm the viability of intended travel routes prior to departure.
